Engine 2303 |
This
is the first new truck that the Department bought that was lime yellow
in color.
Its an Allegheny apparatus on a Chevy C-65 chassis, with a Darley 1000 GPM front mount pump and a 1000 gallon poly tank. It now serves as the reserve engine and responds third out on all structure fires and second out on brush fires. Still fully equipped and compliant the truck is in immaculate condition to be 32 years old! |

This unit was obtained through the Ohio Forestry's Surplus property program. It was a former military vehicle that was refurbished by the Firefighters Association. Its a 1986 Chevy Blazer with a Diesel engine. It is used primarily to transport additional personnel to the scene of an incident and is equipped with all radio frequencies in the surrounding area so it an be used as a command post. |

This
is a 1953 ( yes 1953) Dodge power wagon obtained through the old Civil
Defense program in the 1970's.
It was converted to a brush truck and has been in service ever since. Its been refurbed a couple of times. Its equipped with a 250 gallon tank and an onboard gasoline powered 9 hp pump and 2 hose reels. Several hand brush tools are carried as well as a chain saw, and bladder type back packs. It has a 10,000 lb. PTO winch on the front. Its not very pretty or fast but it sure does the job in the brush! |
